Close CRM Features: A Complete Breakdown in 2026

You have a sales team making hundreds of calls a day, and you need a CRM that keeps up. Not one that asks reps to log every activity by hand, not one that bolts calling on as an afterthought, but one that treats the phone call, the email, and the pipeline update as the same motion.

Close is a sales CRM and engagement platform that builds calling, email, SMS, and WhatsApp into the lead record, so it logs every touchpoint and puts every follow-up one click away. Its newest addition, an AI voice agent called Chloe, calls inbound leads, qualifies them through real conversations, and books meetings before a human rep picks up the phone. This breakdown covers every feature, how it works, who it serves, and which plan unlocks it.

Close's feature set has you covered if:

  • You run high-volume outbound calling and need a Power Dialer or Predictive Dialer built into your CRM

  • You want email, SMS, calling, and WhatsApp in one inbox with automatic activity logging against every lead

  • You need multi-step workflow automation that mixes email, SMS, and call tasks in a single sequence

  • You manage a pipeline with multiple products or deal types and want real-time Kanban views without a separate tool

  • You want AI to call, qualify, and book inbound leads so reps focus on closing

  • You need live call coaching (Listen, Whisper, Barge) for training distributed sales teams

You'll reach the edges of its capabilities if:

  • You need a B2B contact and company database to source the leads your sequences run on

  • You want intent signals showing which companies are researching your category across the web before you contact them

  • You need customizable reporting or BI-grade analytics beyond pre-built dashboards

  • You require custom objects or complex relational data models beyond Close's fixed lead/contact/opportunity structure

  • You want account-based marketing orchestration, display advertising, or multi-channel campaign management alongside sales execution

For those needs, the reference point is ZoomInfo: an all-in-one AI GTM platform built on 500M contacts and 100M companies with 135M+ verified phone numbers, a GTM Context Graph that combines B2B data with CRM records, conversation intelligence, and behavioral signals into a single intelligence layer, and access through APIs, MCP, GTM Workspace, and GTM Studio.

After the feature breakdown, this article covers where Close stops and how ZoomInfo fills those gaps.

Close Platform Overview

Close targets small and mid-size sales teams, specifically teams under 100 people, particularly those at B2B SaaS companies, financial services firms, insurance agencies, and high-velocity outbound shops. The platform serves 10,000+ sales teams and has processed 2 billion calls, emails, and texts since launch. Named customers include FareHarbor, Hipcamp, WorkOS, Flatiron School, Reverb, SimpleTire, and ClassDojo.

The platform is organized around six areas:

Close Chloe AI Agent: Autonomous Inbound Qualification

Chloe is Close's built-in AI sales agent: a voice AI that makes and receives calls, runs qualification conversations, books meetings, and logs everything to the CRM. Because she is native to Close, she has full access to leads, contacts, conversation history, and business context without third-party configuration. Chloe is in limited beta on Growth and Scale plans at no cost during the beta period.

Chloe solves two problems: slow response times and limited capacity at the top of the funnel.

As Close puts it: "The moment a lead comes in, it gets called. Qualified. Booked. Before your team even sees it." Setup runs through a voice-based onboarding conversation with Chloe, where she walks the admin through business discovery, qualification criteria, and configuration. After setup, administrators run a Test Call before Chloe contacts any real leads.

close-crm-features-1

Chloe is configured through Agents.

Each Agent defines the role Chloe plays (inbound qualification, outbound reactivation, or another use case), the instructions she follows, the Skills she can use, and the leads she contacts. Organizations can create multiple Agents for different use cases, each with its own prompt, Skills, phone number, and Playbook.

Configuration spans five tabs: Instructions (company details and call goals), Skills (toggleable actions like Book Meeting, Send Scheduling Link, Alert Users, Transfer Call), Knowledge (facts and documents she can reference mid-call), Settings (phone number, voicemail message, Playbook Outcomes), and Test Variables.

Chloe can be deployed in three ways.

Workflow deployment calls leads automatically as they meet defined criteria, such as a new inbound form fill or no response after a set number of days. Batch calling works through a list of up to 1,000 contacts in sequence, suited for one-time campaigns or stale lead reactivation. One-off calls assign Chloe to a specific lead record without building Workflow logic.

After each call, post-call processing generates a transcript, AI summary, and applied Outcome, all written back to the lead record within a few minutes. The system supports up to 3 concurrent Chloe calls across all Agents, Workflows, and Batch sessions. Chloe must disclose at the start of every call that she is a virtual AI assistant and that the call is being recorded; no Agent configuration can override this. The Alert Users skill notifies a specified rep or group when Chloe detects high intent, and the Transfer Call skill hands off the conversation live.

One constraint: Chloe is currently English-only (close.com/chloe). Close frames her as expanding beyond calling: "Voice qualification is just the beginning. Chloe is evolving into the AI engine inside Close."

Close Sales Communication: Email, Calling, SMS, and WhatsApp in One Inbox

Close's sales communication suite is a built-in communication system that puts email, SMS, calling, WhatsApp, and meeting scheduling into one inbox inside the CRM. Close logs every touchpoint to the correct lead record without manual data entry. The inbox shows all pending to-dos across channels in one view, available on all plans.

Email connects to a rep's existing email server via SMTP/IMAP, or through OAuth for Gmail/Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, configured under Settings > Accounts & Apps > Connected Accounts.

Once connected, Close auto-syncs every email in the Sent folder, whether sent from Close or from Gmail/Outlook directly, and logs it to the matching contact. Multiple email addresses can be connected per user for alias sending or multiple mailboxes. For high-volume sending, Close supports dedicated email servers such as Mailgun or SendGrid, which route sends through custom DNS without risking the primary domain's reputation.

SMS operates over Twilio's infrastructure. Reps can use a Close-provisioned number or port an existing one. All SMS messages are sent and received inside the lead record and appear alongside calls and emails in the inbox.

For US businesses, A2P 10DLC registration is required, with a one-time registration fee ($4 for low-volume brands, $44 for standard brands) plus a recurring monthly campaign fee of $1.50. SMS charges per unit (140 characters per unit for standard English) at Twilio's pay-as-you-go rates. MMS is supported in the US and Canada at $0.03 per outgoing message.

close-crm-features-3

WhatsApp comes through a partner integration with TimelinesAI, which bridges WhatsApp accounts and Close's lead records.

WhatsApp messages auto-sync to the correct lead page in both directions, and incoming WhatsApp messages surface inside the Close Inbox. The integration supports personal WhatsApp accounts and WhatsApp Business App accounts, but does not yet support the WhatsApp Business API (WABA). Close customers receive a 15% lifetime discount on TimelinesAI.

The module also includes email and SMS templates, bulk email with Smart View targeting and real-time open/click tracking, email sequences with timed follow-up reminders combinable with SMS and call tasks, and an AI Email Assistant (Growth plan and above) that rewrites or generates message content. Built-in sending limits and unsubscribe management protect sender reputation.

Close Calling and Dialer: Built-In Global Telephony

Close's calling system is a native telephone stack in the CRM, with no third-party integrations, downloads, or browser plugins required.

Reps call through the Close web browser, a downloadable Mac/Windows desktop app, or iOS/Android mobile apps. The infrastructure runs on Twilio's telephony layer. Calling is available on all plans, with usage billed per minute through Twilio's Voice pricing.

Clicking the call icon on any lead record opens a call bar immediately. Mid-call controls include mute, a DTMF dialpad, call transfer to any user, group number, or external number, and one-click voicemail drop. Close logs every call (answered, missed, or voicemail) to the lead timeline with disposition, duration, and any notes or transcript.

close-crm-features-4

Source: Close

Power Dialer (Growth and Scale) queues the next lead the moment a call ends, with no manual clicking.

The rep starts a session by selecting a Smart View, and the dialer begins. A Reduced Ring Time option cuts the default 32-second ring to 20 seconds to reduce voicemail hits and increase call volume. The Power Dialer deduplicates within shared Smart Views so multiple reps don't call the same lead simultaneously, and the queue refreshes every five minutes or less, adding or removing leads as they enter or exit the filter during a live session.

Predictive Dialer (Scale only) dials multiple numbers simultaneously and routes the first connected call to the next available rep.

Reps hear only live conversations, never dead rings or voicemails. The system adjusts the dial rate in real time using four variables: number of reps available, average dials before answer, call abandonment rate, and average conversation length. When a lead answers but no rep is free, the system plays a pre-recorded abandonment message, and it excludes abandoned leads from re-dialing for 72 hours.

Call recording is available on all plans above Solo, with retention varying by tier: 30 days on Essentials, 90 days on Growth, and unlimited on Scale.

Recordings are downloadable with shareable links, and voicemails are always transcribed free. The AI Call Assistant add-on ($50/month plus $0.02/min) provides speaker-labeled transcripts and post-call summaries for any recorded call over 30 seconds, covering 20 languages with automatic detection. Transcripts are searchable across all leads and persist beyond recording retention periods.

Live coaching: Listen, Whisper, and Barge lets managers silently monitor calls, whisper guidance only the rep hears, or join a call openly. Whisper audio is not recorded even when call recording is active. Up to about 100 participants can join the same outbound call. Coaching permissions split between Listen-only and Whisper & Barge access.

close-crm-features-5

Source: Close

The module also includes Premium Phone Numbers ($19/month per line), which unlock lead-based call routing (routes inbound calls to Lead Owner or by Lead Status), round-robin distribution, and IVR Phone Menu with custom recorded greetings. Outbound calls reach nearly 200 countries, and international numbers are purchasable for local presence.

Close Workflows: Multi-Channel Sales Automation

Close's Workflows is a rule-based automation engine in the CRM. Workflows eliminate manual follow-up by chaining triggers, steps, and goals into sequences that mix email, SMS, call tasks, and CRM updates. Close reports that 98% of users save at least 3 hours of admin work per week. Workflows are only available on Growth and Scale plans.

A Workflow has three components: a trigger (the event that starts a run), one or more steps (executed in order), and optional Workflow Goals that stop a run early when a desired outcome occurs.

Triggers can be manual or automatic, firing on Lead events, Custom Activity events, Opportunity events, Contact events, Call events, Meeting Activity events, and Form submission events. Each trigger accepts conditions (for example, firing only when an Opportunity is created with a "Won" status and value above $1,000).

close-crm-features-6

Source: Close

A delay of 1 minute up to 365 days can separate any two steps. When a delay is set on a communication step, the send time follows the Communication Window, which defaults to Monday through Friday, 9AM to 4PM in the contact's local timezone, staggering sends to mimic human behavior and protect deliverability.

Step types available in Workflows include:

  • Email: automated outreach using a shared template, with sender options including workflow creator, specific user, or user stored in a custom field

  • Call: creates a Call Task assigned to a specific user or User Group, with an optional timeout

  • SMS: automated text messages using a shared SMS template, with MMS attachment support

  • Assign User: randomly or deterministically assigns a lead to a team member, with round-robin support

  • Task: creates and assigns a general task

  • Create Opportunity: creates a new Opportunity with field values populated from trigger data

  • Update Lead: updates any Lead fields, including custom fields, and supports AI Enrich to auto-populate fields during the workflow run

  • Update Opportunity: updates fields on a specific Opportunity (trigger-linked, newest, or oldest)

  • Filter (beta): conditional check mid-workflow; run continues if conditions are met, pauses if not

Workflow Goals pause a run when a desired outcome occurs. When enabled, these goals trigger a "Goal Met" state: incoming email, incoming SMS, incoming call, meeting booked, Lead Status change, and Outcome met. Goal-Met reporting breaks down by step, showing which step converted a contact, so teams can optimize their sequences with data.

Workflows support Run Once and Run Multiple modes to control repeat behavior, and can be archived and reactivated with instant pause of all active runs.

Close Lead and Pipeline Management

Close's lead and pipeline management is the core organizational layer: a view of every deal at every stage without requiring reps to toggle between tools. Every call, text, email, task, note, and opportunity consolidates in one Lead timeline, so reps always know who needs attention and when.

Lead structure in Close is straightforward.

Every account is a Lead. B2B teams attach one or more Contacts (individuals) to each Lead; B2C teams use a 1:1 Lead-to-Contact model. Leads can be created manually, imported via CSV or Excel (accepts drag-and-drop, copy-paste, or file upload up to 15MB), or captured through Close Forms. Each Lead carries a customizable Status, color-coded for quick scanning in the Inbox and Smart Views.

close-crm-features-7

Source: Close

Within each Lead, reps create Opportunities to represent individual deals.

Each Opportunity carries a Status (pipeline stage), Value (one-time or monthly recurring), Confidence percentage, Estimated Close date, assigned Contact, and assigned User. Expected Value (Value multiplied by Confidence) is tracked separately from Total Value for weighted pipeline forecasting. All Opportunities appear in a Kanban-style Pipeline View where reps drag and drop between stages; dragging to the bottom of the board marks a deal Won or Lost. Multiple pipelines support different products, teams, or sales processes.

Smart Views are saved, dynamic lead filters that update in real time as leads move in and out of defined criteria. They replace manual task lists: instead of individual reminders, reps build views like "new leads with no activity in the past 7 days" and work through them as a daily queue. Smart Views can be shared team-wide or kept private, and they feed both the Power Dialer and Predictive Dialer.

Pipeline Guidance (Growth and above) flags Opportunities with passed close dates, stalled stages, or unanswered prospect messages. Rather than a static stale-deals report, it pushes flagged Opportunities into the rep's Inbox as daily reminders, paired with a suggested action (launch dialer, generate draft email, one-click Mark Lost).

Close Forms are no-code, branded forms that embed on websites via HTML copy-paste. When submitted, Close either creates a new Lead or updates an existing match, maps form fields to CRM fields, and can trigger Smart Views and Workflows natively, without Zapier. Forms include duplicate detection and required-field enforcement.

close-crm-features-8

Source: Close

The module also includes Custom Fields (text, number, date, single/multiple dropdown, user, and contact types), bulk editing across any filtered list, AI Lead Summaries (Growth and above) that generate on-demand summaries of the last 90 days of activity, duplicate detection on import, and Lead visibility rules (Scale) that restrict which reps or teams can see which leads.

Close Reporting and Coaching

Close's reporting and coaching system gives sales teams visibility without spreadsheet exports or separate coaching platforms.

On the reporting side, Close provides built-in analytics covering pipeline health, rep activity, email performance, and revenue forecasting, updated in real time. On the coaching side, Close embeds live call coaching tools in the dialer.

The Activity Overview Report is a real-time dashboard of team output across calls, emails, SMS, tasks, and opportunities. Managers filter by Smart View, individual rep, or custom date range, then compare periods side by side (for example, Q1 this year versus Q4 last year) with percentage-change deltas on every metric tile. Clicking a metric number goes to the underlying lead list for immediate action.

Additional report types include the Activity Comparison Report (side-by-side time-period comparisons), Status Change Report (lead movement between statuses over time), Sent Email Report (volume, open rates, and reply rates by rep or team), and Opportunity Pipeline and Funnel Reports (stage-by-stage conversion tracking).

close-crm-features-9

Source: Close

Leaderboards show the top 10 performers plus the viewing user's own rank for any chosen metric. Reports are shareable via a copy link that reflects the latest saved state, and CSV and JSON export are available from any Activity Overview Report.

The coaching tools go beyond reporting.

Managers navigate to the Team Management page or the Conversations view to see which reps are on calls, then click Listen to enter silently. From there, they switch modes in real time: Whisper lets the coach speak to the rep without the prospect hearing, and Barge adds the manager audibly to both parties.

Close stores call recordings automatically, and AI Call Assistant transcripts are searchable, so managers can review conversations later and give targeted feedback without sitting in on the original call. Shared templates, workflows, and top-performing call recordings give smaller teams a way to replicate best practices.

One limitation: Close's reporting is the most cited gap in user reviews. Pipeline opportunity reports are not customizable, pipelines that skip stages or move backwards don't report properly, and lower-tier plans offer limited analytics. Teams needing BI-grade dashboards or custom reports will need external tools.

Close Integrations, API, and Infrastructure

Close lists 100+ integrations across AI, lead generation, marketing, scheduling, e-signature, communication, collaboration, customer success, support, automation, and analytics. Notable native integrations include Gmail, Microsoft 365/Outlook, Google Calendar, Calendly, Zoom, ChatGPT, Claude (via MCP), Gong, Clay, Help Scout, and Zapier for hundreds of additional app connections.

close-crm-features-10

The REST API at developer.close.com gives programmatic access to the full CRM surface: leads, contacts, opportunities, tasks, custom objects, activities (calls, emails, SMS, WhatsApp messages, meetings, notes), workflows, bulk actions, reporting, and CRM configuration. Authentication supports both API key (HTTP Basic Auth) and OAuth 2.0 for third-party applications. API access is included on all paid plans. Close also publishes a native MCP server that connects Close data to any compatible AI model or agent.

Officially maintained client libraries cover Python and Node.js, with community libraries for Ruby, PHP, C#, Elixir, and Go. The developer changelog tracks updates frequently, with multiple entries per month in 2026.

On security, Close is SOC 2 Type 2 certified covering all five trust service principles: Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy. All connections use TLS 1.2 with ECDHE_RSA key exchange and AES_128_GCM cipher. Email credentials are encrypted using 256-bit AES, with data and encryption keys stored on separate servers. 2FA and Google SSO are available on all plans. Close meets both Data Controller and Data Processor obligations under GDPR and complies with CCPA.

Where Close Stops: The Gaps

Close centers on the individual seller's workflow: calling, emailing, texting, and tracking pipeline in one place, with AI automating the top of the funnel. That focus creates the product's strengths, but it also means the platform depends on outside sources for several capabilities a growing revenue team needs.

No B2B contact or company database.

Close is a CRM and engagement platform, not a data provider. It does not include its own database of contacts, companies, direct dials, or verified business emails. Reps import leads from CSV, forms, or third-party enrichment tools like Clay. A team using Close without a data source has no contacts to call.

No buyer intent signals.

Close tracks engagement with your own outreach (opens, clicks, replies) and flags stalled deals through Pipeline Guidance, but it does not include intent data showing which companies are researching specific topics across the web before you contact them. Engagement signals tell you who responds; intent signals tell you who is in-market before you reach out.

Limited reporting depth.

The most cited user feedback across G2 and Capterra is that reporting falls short for teams needing advanced analytics. Pipeline opportunity reports are not customizable, and lower-tier plans offer restricted analytics. Teams requiring custom report builders or BI-grade dashboards need external tools.

No custom objects or flexible data models.

Close's fixed data model (leads, contacts, opportunities) limits companies with complex relational data needs. Users can create custom fields but cannot create custom objects the way enterprise CRMs allow.

No marketing orchestration or ABM.

Close positions itself as not built for organizations needing marketing features like landing pages, display advertising, audience management, or account-based marketing. Marketing teams running demand generation alongside sales execution need a separate platform.

No native proposal, quoting, or CPQ.

Close acknowledges this gap: it does not suit organizations needing built-in proposal generators or product/inventory management.

How ZoomInfo Covers the Gaps

The gaps above share a thread: Close optimizes for the seller's daily execution but depends on outside sources for the data, signals, and cross-functional capabilities around it. ZoomInfo is an all-in-one AI GTM platform that supplies those layers.

ZoomInfo's B2B Data Platform: The contact and company database Close does not include

ZoomInfo operates a B2B data platform covering 500M contacts, 100M companies, 135M+ verified phone numbers, 120M direct-dial phone numbers, and 200M+ verified business email addresses. The data passes through a verification pipeline backed by 300+ human researchers and automated ML scanning of 28 million site domains daily, with 95% accuracy on first-party data.

close-crm-features-11

Source: ZoomInfo

For a team using Close, this fills the prospecting gap upstream of every call and email.

Close's Power Dialer and Predictive Dialer can burn through a lead list fast, but those lists need accurate phone numbers and emails to begin with. ZoomInfo provides department org charts with decision-makers' direct dials and emails, 300+ company attributes for segmentation, and contact tracking with job-change alerts. Global coverage extends to 34M+ company profiles outside North America, 200M+ professional profiles outside NA, and 45M+ mobile numbers outside NA.

In a Fortune 500 competitive RFP analyzing 25 million contacts across vendors, an independent consultant concluded that "no other competitor came even close." External validation includes: Leader in the Forrester Wave for Intent Data Providers (Q1 2025), Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for ABM Platforms for two consecutive years, and the only vendor in the Customers' Choice quadrant in the Gartner Voice of the Customer report with a 4.7/5.0 rating.

ZoomInfo Intent and WebSights: Signals that reveal in-market buyers before any outreach

ZoomInfo Intent tracks signals from 210 million IP-to-Organization pairings and 6 trillion+ new keyword-to-device pairings sourced monthly.

Where Close's Pipeline Guidance flags deals that have stalled in your existing pipeline, ZoomInfo's intent data reveals which companies are researching topics related to your product across the web, before you have contacted them. Guided Intent, exclusive to ZoomInfo, identifies the topics historically correlated with deal success rather than requiring manual topic selection.

close-crm-features-12

Source: ZoomInfo

On the website side, WebSights resolves anonymous website traffic to companies with Automatic Traffic Filtering that distinguishes real visitors from bots. ZoomInfo Marketing goes further with contact-level visitor identification, identifying who visited (not just which company) and triggering personalized outreach.

ZoomInfo's GTM Context Graph and Chorus: Intelligence from conversations and deals, not just activity logs

Close tracks activities (calls made, emails sent, pipeline changes), and its AI Call Assistant produces transcripts and summaries. ZoomInfo's GTM Context Graph captures why deals move or stall by processing 1.5B+ data points daily, combining B2B data with CRM records, conversation intelligence from Chorus, email interactions, and behavioral signals.

Chorus, ZoomInfo's conversation intelligence engine backed by 14 technology patents, goes beyond transcription.

It records and transcribes sales calls, surfaces AI-generated insights (talk ratios, sentiment, objection detection), auto-syncs deal intelligence to the CRM, and provides coaching scorecards and clip sharing. It captures what Close's activity tracking cannot: why a champion went quiet, what a competitive mention means for deal risk, which objection patterns predict closed-lost outcomes.

close-crm-features-13

Source: ZoomInfo

That reasoning flows into GTM Workspace, where sellers see a complete Book of Business view with AI agents automating account research, outreach, CRM updates, and signal monitoring.

ZoomInfo GTM Studio: Marketing orchestration and ABM that Close does not offer

GTM Studio addresses the marketing orchestration gap. Marketers, RevOps teams, and GTM engineers can build audiences in natural language, enrich with first- and third-party data, define triggers, and activate plays across channels (email, calls, display ads, direct mail, LinkedIn, Meta, Connected TV) without engineering support.

Pre-built GTM plays cover inbound acceleration, champion tracking, competitive displacement, and ICP targeting. Expansion plays that used to take 3 weeks now launch in 30 minutes.

close-crm-features-14

Source: ZoomInfo

ZoomInfo Marketing includes a native Demand-Side Platform that deploys display ads based on 300+ company attributes, FormComplete (reducing forms to a single field while auto-appending data), and Account Fit Scoring (predictive AI scoring 0-100 based on company attribute patterns).

ZoomInfo APIs and MCP: Universal data access for any tool or AI agent

ZoomInfo delivers its intelligence through APIs and MCP, so the same data and GTM Context Graph powering ZoomInfo's products is accessible inside any third-party tool or custom AI agent.

The MCP server connects AI models to ZoomInfo's B2B data as a native tool, currently supporting Claude and ChatGPT. Close itself integrates with Claude via MCP, meaning ZoomInfo's data can flow into Close through AI-assisted workflows. API access is included in all relevant plans, and the Enterprise API covers Search, Enrich, Copilot (AI intelligence), Marketing (audience management), and Engagements endpoints.

ZoomInfo's Free Entry Points: A way to evaluate the platform before any commitment

ZoomInfo offers what many enterprise platforms do not: a path in without talking to sales. ZoomInfo Lite is a permanent free tier with access to ZoomInfo's B2B database, 10 monthly export credits, individual and company searches, a Chrome extension, and WebSights Lite with up to 10 website visitor reveals per day. A separate 7-day free trial provides broader access with no credit card required.

Final Summary

Close is a complete toolkit for inside sales execution: built-in calling with Power and Predictive Dialers, email and SMS in one inbox, multi-channel workflow automation, and an AI voice agent that qualifies inbound leads and books meetings on its own. It fits small and mid-size sales teams that want to consolidate their dialer, email tool, and CRM into one platform and start selling immediately, with transparent pricing and no admin overhead.

It is lighter on the layers upstream and around execution: no B2B database, no intent signals, limited reporting, no custom objects, and no marketing orchestration or ABM.

If your bottleneck is upstream of the call (knowing who to call and why they're in-market now), ZoomInfo covers that ground.

Its 500M-contact, 100M-company database supplies the verified emails and direct dials Close's dialers run on. ZoomInfo Intent surfaces accounts researching your category from 6 trillion+ keyword-to-device pairings monthly, before any outreach starts. Chorus captures and analyzes every sales conversation beyond transcription. GTM Studio gives marketing teams the multi-channel orchestration Close does not include. And the GTM Context Graph combines all of it into a single intelligence layer that captures why deals move, not just that they moved.

See what that data layer adds to your stack: start with ZoomInfo Lite for free, or request a demo to see how verified contacts and intent signals flow into your pipeline.

FAQ

Does Close include a B2B contact database?

No. Close is a CRM and sales engagement platform, not a data provider. It does not include its own database of contacts, companies, phone numbers, or email addresses. Teams source leads through CSV imports, Close Forms, or third-party enrichment tools.

ZoomInfo's database of 500M contacts, 100M companies, and 120M direct-dial phone numbers supplies the contact data that Close's dialers and sequences run on.

Which Close plan includes automated workflows?

Workflows are available on Growth ($99/seat/month annual) and Scale ($139/seat/month annual) plans only. Solo and Essentials do not include automated workflows, Power Dialer, Chloe AI, or the AI Email Assistant. Teams on Essentials that need automation face a large step up to Growth.

Can Close record and transcribe sales calls?

Yes, with caveats. Call recording is available on Essentials and above: 30-day retention on Essentials, 90 days on Growth, and unlimited on Scale. AI transcription and summarization require the AI Call Assistant add-on at $50/month plus $0.02 per minute. The add-on provides speaker-labeled transcripts in 20 languages and post-call summaries. Transcripts are searchable and persist beyond recording retention periods.

Close does not include the conversation intelligence and coaching analytics that ZoomInfo's Chorus offers (objection detection, win-pattern analysis, coaching scorecards).

How does Close's Predictive Dialer work?

The Predictive Dialer (Scale plan only) dials multiple numbers simultaneously and routes the first connected call to the next available rep. The system adjusts dial rate in real time based on rep availability, average dials before answer, call abandonment rate, and average conversation length. When a lead answers but no rep is free, the system plays a pre-recorded abandonment message and excludes abandoned leads from re-dialing for 72 hours.

Does Close support custom objects?

Close's data model is fixed around leads, contacts, and opportunities. Users can create custom fields (text, number, date, dropdown, and other types) on any object, but cannot create new custom objects the way enterprise CRMs like Salesforce allow. For companies with complex relational data needs, this is a structural limitation.

What does Close's Chloe AI agent cost?

Chloe is included on Growth and Scale plans at no cost during the current beta. Final pricing has not been announced. Chloe supports up to 3 concurrent calls across all Agents, Workflows, and Batch sessions, and is English-only.

Does Close offer buyer intent data?

No. Close tracks engagement with your own outreach (email opens, clicks, replies) and flags stalled deals through Pipeline Guidance, but it does not include third-party intent data showing which companies are researching relevant topics across the web.

ZoomInfo Intent tracks signals from 210 million IP-to-Organization pairings and 6 trillion+ keyword-to-device pairings sourced monthly, identifying in-market accounts before any outreach begins.

What security certifications does Close hold?

Close is SOC 2 Type 2 certified, covering Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy. All connections use TLS 1.2, with email credentials encrypted using 256-bit AES. 2FA and Google SSO are available on all plans. Close meets GDPR Data Controller and Data Processor obligations and complies with CCPA. Close does not publicly list ISO 27001 certification for its own infrastructure.
